York Association of the National Trust
(YANT)
In support of the National Trust
It is with regret that, after 55 years, the York Association of the National Trust ceased all activities on the 31st December 2025
As we wind down YANT, we are legally obliged to hand all remaining funds to the National Trust and as part of the process we have made the following donations to local Yorkshire Properties.
1. £2000 To be allocated to York NT Garden Team for 2 benches at Goddards.
2. £1000 to the NT in the Dales for Steel Tree Guard project above Cray in the Upper Wharfedale.
3. £2,500 for York NT for Treasurer’s House Video Project – visitors will be able to watch this about the areas they can’t reach if they have mobility issues.
4. £900 for Ormesby Hall grant to upgrade 3 public hand driers.
5. £1590 Nunnington garden for new deckchairs
6. £1000 Nunnington garden for new plants.
7. £750 Nostell Priory Library book conservation.
WE HAVE HAD A LONG HISTORY IN YORK
For fiftyfive years the York Association of the National Trust (YANT) has been a welcome focus for people from in and around York, organising a wide range of year-round activities - talks, walks, holidays, day trips and social activities.
WHAT HAPPENS TO OUR SURPLUS FUNDS
We are a "not for profit" organisation, so any funds we have over at the end of the year have been donated to National Trust properties, especially those in Yorkshire, such as Treasurer’s House, Goddards, Beningbrough Hall, Nunnington Hall, Fountains Abbey, Nostell Priory and East Riddlesden Hall.
We have also contributed to many special appeals including those relating to specific areas of country or coastline. In recent years members of the York Association have been able to hand over cheques for around £2,000 a year to help fund NT projects.
